Thanks for the information!

I am dyslexic and have found this page and others like it very intresting!I though do not see myself as having a disorder or any strange condition I see myself as different. I was found to be dyslexic at a young age Because I had a very bad speach poblem and my school was VERY helpful with giving me help and I now feel just as smart as everyone else in the class! I am 15 and have had about 11 years of help and I still have problems while spelling but in other ways I top everyone else in general knowlage.

So Thanks angain I hope people like you keep posting this information as it can be strange asking someone face to face for more information!

It is interesting that not all eye care professionals define the Harmon viewing distance the same. Some state it is the distance from the elbow to the eye when the fisted hand is supporting the chin. Other professionals state it is the distance from the elbow to the middle finger's joint distal to the knuckle of that finger. Still others state it is the distance from the elbow to the knuckle of the middle finger. Obviously, no two of these are the same distance. The definition given in this article does match the description of the Harmon distance as described in Harmon's own publications.
